JOB DESCRIPTION: Marketing Assistant

Responsible to: Ruth Martin, Owner, Martin and Jones Marketing

Location: Oswestry Office


To support the company’s and client’s marketing strategy, through the use of a range of marketing activities, initiatives and tools.


  • Management of all social media including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tik Tok. This includes
    • Write and schedule social posts and stories
    • Create creatives for posts and stories including videos (primarily within Canva)
    • Timely replies to comments and messages on account pages.
    • Building of client account following in line with overall marketing strategy
    • Follow engagement strategies for client account and via account pages
    • Researching and joining relevant Facebook groups for client and group posting
    • Gather and creative monthly metrics reports ready for monthly client meetings
    • Keep up to date and informed of platform changes and current best practice for each platform
  • Design and content creation of Eshots. Testing and scheduling of the same (primarily within Mailchimp)
  • Creation of blogs and articles
  • Creation and design of marketing collateral (primarily within Canva) Consisting but not limited to – Website banners, facebook cover images, Mailchimp images
  • Design, set up, management and performance reporting of Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns


Clear understanding of the way social media works and the ability to utilise it for an effective marketing strategy with clients. Creative and professional approach to work.

The key skills required are:

  • Understanding of the Marketing process
  • Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • English and Maths to GCSE or equivalent
  • Familiar and confident with all forms of social media
  • Experience of blog writing and creating content for social media
  • Experience of scheduling tools such as Mailchimp
  • Able to prioritise effectively
  • Ideally experience with advertising agents and the Media
  • Ideally experience with internet and online marketing organisations
  • Ideally experience with updating websites


  • A professional manner, including online, towards clients
  • Able to respond to client needs within a reasonable timeframe
  • Maintain an objective approach that is free from bias or which undermines the integrity of either the Company or its clients.

Working Hours: 20 hours per week, spread over 4 days in office in Oswestry town centre. Actual working hours to be agreed upon job offer.

Salary: £11.50 per hour
